“Our future. It’s in our hands” , just what does this mean?  Our world is changing.  We all need more skills than ever before.  Thousands of employers – of all sizes – admit that their staff do not have the right skills needed for the future.  Train to Gain can help give companies access to funding towards staff training to gain a recognised qualification to NVQ 2 but also part funding towards Level 3 and where possible Level 4 qualifications as well.

What is Train to Gain? For business getting the right skills advice is essential to choosing the best and most appropriate training.  Train to Gain helps you to do this by:

  • Offering free advice to business
  • Matching any training need to the right provider
  • Ensuring that the training is delivered to meet business needs

Five simple steps to great training:  By ensuring your employees have the right skills to do the best job, Train to Gain can help boost productivity and keep you ahead of the competition.  Together we can:

  • Identify the skills your business needs
  • Pinpoint the right training
  • Agree a tailored training package
  • Find available funding
  • Review the progress you are making

What is the Skills Pledge?  The Skills Pledge is a voluntary, public commitment by the leadership of a company or organisation to support all its employees to develop their basic skills, including literacy and numeracy, and work towards relevant, valuable qualifications to a least Level 2 (equivalent to 5 good GCSEs).  The purpose is to ensure that all staff are skilled, competent and able to make a full contribution to the success of the company/organisation.

Last year Northbrook helped over 300 employees gain either a Level 2 or 3 qualification through the Train to Gain service. We also helped over 50 companies gain access to government funding to fill their staffs’ skills gaps and requirements.  Many more businesses and employees have since taken advantage of Train to Gain by receiving valuable advice on training requirements which resulted in tailored workshops and learning being undertaken to fulfil the company’s training needs and requirements which lead to the enhancement of their employees skills and productivity.

The College has secured significant funding to deliver a high volume of NVQ Qualifications from August 2008 and are seeking new clients in order to expand delivery.
