WHAT WE OFFER

The Careers Adviser at Northbrook College is here to support all students. If you need help with career choices, researching and applying for higher education, developing your employability skills, CV writing and tips on how to fill out your application form, then the Careers Adviser is here to support you.

We can help you explore options and fi nd contacts for your GAP year and voluntary work and help you create a basic action plan for your next step.

Trying to decide on the wide range of careers open to you can be confusing and the Careers Services are here to help you work out and plan your future, making the most of your individual opportunities. We offer a friendly service and our knowledgeable Adviser will try their best to help you with Careers and Information Advice and Guidance. To arrange an interview with the Careers Adviser please call 01903 606063 and book a convenient time.

Everyone can access the Careers Services, especially prior to applying for a course at the College and even after you have left the College.

CONNEXIONS SERVICES

The College works closely with Connexions which offers further careers advice and is especially helpful if you are 14 -19 and are unsure of what career path to follow. For further information and advice please contact the local Connexions offi ce on 01903 205612 .

NEXTSTEP SERVICES

This is a careers service for adults aged 20+. We especially concentrate on those with few or no qualifications and help find suitable courses that would help raise the potential of better employment. We can also help if you have been made redundant and would like some help with CV writing, application form filling, letter writing or job search skills.

If you have been off work for health reasons, family commitments or you simply want to improve your earning potential, we can advise on retraining.

If you have already started a course and now feel this is the wrong one for you or, for other reasons you are unable to carry on with it, please contact us and we will help find an alternative.
