Student Crowned 'Young Craftsman of the Year' at South of England Show

C onstruction student, Greg Miles, has been named 'Young Craftsman of the Year' at the South of England Show at Ardingly. Greg impressed the judges with his beautiful six drawer cabinet and excellent use of veneer.

Greg, who is 18 and from Sompting, said, "I'm really pleased to have won this. I never dreamed I would be so successful."

Another Northbrook student, Josh Burkett, also won an award, coming second in the Wood Section.

Lecturer, Martin Howlett, was delighted with the students' hard work. He said, "This is a culmination of an extremely successful year when all the students have passed, many with distinctions and credits. Several students have found jobs within the industry and some have started their own workshops."

He added, "We would like to say a big thank you to Steve Price at the Veneer Workshops in Portslade."
