Northbrook Graduate at LFW
N
orthbrook Fashion graduate Michael Williamson has been rubbing shoulder pads with celebrities since leaving the college, including supermodel, Erin O’Connor, who has worn his designs.
Michael secured a prestigious Personal Assistant position with fashion expert and television presenter, Caryn Franklin, when he showcased his collection at Graduate Fashion Week as part of his course.
Straight in at the deep end, Michael worked with Caryn on her project entitled ‘All Walks Beyond the Catwalk’ for London Fashion Week. Founded by Caryn Franklin, Debra Bourne and supermodel, Erin O’Connor, the event inspired young designers at the start of their career to showcase their work on professional models aged between 18-65 and size 8-16, as a celebration of individuality and diversity. This is all very relevant for Michael, who is just starting up his own clothing label, with pieces from his graduate collection, ‘Love Letters From Hell’, already being worn by Erin O’Connor at the Pringle show.
As well as working on the All Walks Campaign, Michael recently designed a T-shirt for B.E.A.T, an eating disorder charity which was involved with the London Fashion event. The T-shirt was sold exclusively at the Marble Arch Marks & Spencer with all proceeds going to the charity.
Considering he hasn’t been able to stand still since graduating, Michael is planning a research trip for inspiration for his new up and coming clothing label, M.W.Frost.
Thrilled to be so busy and involved with such worthy projects, Michael said, “I have really enjoyed working on projects that I strongly believe in for their individuality and refreshing approach to fashion and the media. Now I am just really looking forward to see where the new season takes me.”
