Graduation 2010

N orthbrook College held its annual graduation ceremony for university level students on Friday. Graduates in their gowns and mortarboards collected their awards from the stage at Worthing’s Assembly Hall. group of graduates after the ceremony

Guests of the College included the Mayor of Brighton & Hove, Vice Chancellor of Chichester University, Deputy Mayor of Worthing, local councillors, deans of Brighton University and heads of local schools.

The guest of honour was Gill Fielding from Channel 4’s Secret Millionnaire. Gill gave an inspiring speech, telling the graduates they should be ‘Fast, Focussed, Friendly and Flexible’ in order to succeed in life. Kenneth Izuagba, who graduated with a BA (Hons) in Business, replied with a vote of thanks on behalf of the students.

A graduate with a glass of bucks fizz After the ceremony, students and their guests were treated to a glass of bucks fizz in the foyer before spilling out into the sunshine to take pictures of each other tossing their caps into the air.

A total of 541 students graduated from Northbrook’s university level courses this year - a number which has been rising steadily over the last ten years. Students come to Worthing from all over the UK and abroad in order to study for their degrees at Northbrook and the College’s West Durrington campus has this year been re-branded ‘The University Centre Worthing’.Graduates throw caps in the air to celebrate
