Computing Student Creates App for iPhone

A Northbrook Computing graduate has created a new app for Apple’s iPhone. Wayne Douglas, who founded his company WD Software in partnership with graphic designer Jon Parr, has created FESTIVALstar.

Wayne, who is 33, said, “We went to Glastonbury a few years ago. There were about 30 of us and trying to plan anything or find out where anyone was proved to be an absolute nightmare.”

As well as giving stage times and other vital information for major UK festivals, the app allows users to pinpoint their friends and read their Twitter messages. People will also be able to “crowdsource” photographs they snap while they are watching bands on stage.

WD Software is also working on two new apps called IBIZAstar and EVENTstar. They are also creating a version for Google’s Android operating system.
