Littlehampton's Lobster Goes Live
A
website has been launched for a fascinating research project by a Northbrook art lecturer. The project, entitled ‘Littlehampton’s Lobsters’, is currently featured in an exhibition at Littlehampton Museum.
Foundation Art, Design and Media Lecturer, Stephanie Bolt, secured a Heritage Lottery Fund grant of £26,000 for a project to collect and document memories of Littlehampton’s maritime history. Stephanie was inspired by a 1935 film about the town made by the celebrated Hungarian artist, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy.
The website features a chronicle by Stephanie on her journey through the project to commission films by fellow lecturer, Nick Collins. The site also features a whole host of local, national and international organisations from Laszlo Moholy-Nagy to the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Stephanie carried out extensive work with the local community to regenerate interest in the heritage of Littlehampton and give people a sense of pride and awareness of the town’s history.
The website will only be online for a year, so visit
