Northbrook Awarded £1 Million Grant for Redevelopment of Broadwater Campus
N orthbrook College has been successful in its appeal for Government funding for the long-awaited redevelopment of its Broadwater campus. The College has been awarded a £1 million grant by the Skills Funding Agency – one of only 15 colleges nationally to receive this allocation.
The College’s goal to upgrade facilities at the site has won support from the local community as well as local councillors and MPs. The aim is to build a high quality technical and vocational 14-19 centre for Worthing’s young people.
Northbrook Principal, Sue Dare, said, “We are delighted that our needs have been recognised by the new coalition government and we are able to build the college which the town deserves.”
Architects’ plans have been submitted for planning permission and it is anticipated that construction will commence in January 2011.
