Fashion Students' New York Trip

A group of 40 lucky Northbrook students have just returned from a trip to New York City.

The students are studying for BA degree courses in the Fashion and Textiles department and they were taken on the six day educational trip by their tutors.

The group stayed in a Times Square hotel and visited several art and design museums, including the Fashion Institute of Technology, the Museum of Modern Art, the Guggenheim Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They also saw the Empire State building and enjoyed a walk through the snow in Central Park.

Simon Seivewright, Course Leader of BA (Hons) Fashion Design, said, “Taking the students to one of the fashion capitals of the world like New York is an incredibly important part of their global fashion awareness and an enriching cultural activity. In many cases it’s the first time students have had the chance to travel across the Atlantic and to experience the excitement of New York, a city so famous, it feels like you’re in a giant movie set!”
