Admissions

Based at the West Durrington and Broadwater campuses, the Admissions Team is there to provide information on courses and help you through the enrolment process.They are available, either in person or by phone, on 0845 155 60 60 - Monday to Friday 9am to 4.30pm.

Student Financial Support Office

The Student Financial Support Office, located at our West Durrington campus, is available to all students requiring financial guidance on a drop in basis. Office opening hours are 9am – 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am – 4.30pm on Fridays. The team are fully briefed on all areas relating to student finance. Accommodation

The College's Higher Education students can find accommodation with other students, on their own, or with a host family. Our Accommodation Officer will provide a list of available accommodation for you to select from or details of a local Estate Agent. For international students all arrangements for accommodation are made in advance of your arrival in the UK by our Accommodation Officer - Tel: 44 1903 606001 or email accommodation@nbcol.ac.uk . Rented accommodation in Worthing is plentiful and of good quality and students have little difficulty in finding lodgings. We estimate that the average cost is £75-£80 per week for a self-catering house or flat share with other students.

Additional Learning Support

There is a team of well qualified staff at Northbrook who are able to work with you to support you in your work. It may be some time since you have studied, that you had extra help at school or it may be that English is not your first language. We are able to meet with you to assess your needs and wherever possible arrange for specialist staff to work with you to support you on your course.

Careers Services

All students and prospective students can arrange an appointment with our Careers and Next Step Adviser. If you are unsure of what course to do, what qualifications you need to progress onto further studies or you want to talk about a change in career, then we can help. If you want to retrain or you have been unemployed and you need some help with job search skills, CV writing and interview skills, the Careers and Next Step Adviser can support you. Counselling and Welfare Unit

If you have problems of any kind while studying at Northbrook, please do talk to your tutor - who may then suggest visiting one of our Counsellors. You can also, if you wish, approach the Counselling and Welfare Unit directly. We welcome all students, regardless of gender, race, ability, age, religion, marital status or sexuality. The NHS run a free weekly Contraceptive and Sexual Health Clinic for students aged 16-19 at Northbrook on the following days:
West Durrington: In First Aid room by the canteen, Wednesday 1.00 - 4.00pm
Broadwater: Room C6 by the canteen, Monday 1.00 - 4.00pm
Shoreham: First Aid Room, Wednesday 11.30 - 2.30pm

Personal Tutorial System

Northbrook has a system of individual Personal Tutors who are available to help with your questions, queries or problems - whether they are course related or personal. You will be assigned a Personal Tutor at the beginning of your course who will be your contact throughout your time at Northbrook.

Library & Information Services

The Northbrook libraries provide a quiet, pleasant, social and cultural atmosphere, with an enthusiastic and friendly team to support you and your studies. Our main Library is at West Durrington campus, covering Art and Design, Business, Catering and Hospitality. The Broadwater campus caters for Further and Higher Education including Computing and Music courses and Shoreham for Aeronautical and Automobile Engineering.

Student Flexible Learning Resource Centres

All Further Education students have access to their allocated Centre which allows drop-in access on a flexible basis to high quality, supported IT facilities, including: High-specification personal
computers - Wide range of application software - Secure student network - Virtual learning environment - Internet - World Wide Web - Email - File transfer via CD and USB storage devices -and much more...

Cafeteria Facilities

Cafeterias are available at all campuses serving a wide variety of hot and cold snacks and meals. There is also a food shop at West Durrington and drink and snack vending machines located around the College campuses.

Brooks Coffee Shop

Brooks Coffee Shop is a popular self-service restaurant located at West Durrington. It is open weekdays between 10am and 2.30pm during term time. Hot and cold beverages, freshly baked pastries and light meals, including vegetarian dishes, can be enjoyed in pleasant surroundings at economic prices.

Learner Voice & Enrichment Co-ordinators
